8.6 Exporting Grades & Integrations

How to get Gradebook data out of Intertwined for use in your school's SIS, LMS, or printed reports.

Written by Kerry Ao

Many teachers need to transfer Intertwined grades into their school's official grading system. Here's how to handle export.

Current Export Capabilities

Intertwined's Gradebook is designed for in-platform use, with options to view, filter, and analyze performance directly in the interface. Specific export functionality varies by plan tier and continues to be expanded.

For the most current export options available on your plan, check your Gradebook header for an Export button, or contact support.

Common Export Use Cases

Transferring to your school's SIS If your school uses a Student Information System (PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Skyward, etc.), you'll typically need to manually transfer Intertwined grades to the SIS. For District tier customers, SIS integrations may be available — see your dedicated Account Manager for setup.

Transferring to your LMS For LMS systems (Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology), grade pass-back may be supported on certain plan tiers. District tier includes LMS integration setup. For other tiers, manual entry is typically required.

Sharing with parents For parent communication, consider:

  • Screenshots of the relevant student's row in the Gradebook

  • Using the Student Performance tab to capture a more visual summary

  • The Parent & Guardian Letter template in the Teaching Toolkit

End-of-year archiving At the end of the school year, take screenshots or export your Gradebook data for your own records, especially if you may need to reference it for future grade questions.

What to Capture When Exporting Manually

If you're manually transferring grades, the most useful data points are:

  • Per-lesson percentage — The actual numeric grade

  • Mastery status — The color category for qualitative reporting

  • Student name — For matching to your SIS

  • Lesson name — For context if questioned

  • Class Average for comparison

A simple approach: take a screenshot of the Gradebook with the relevant unit filtered, then type grades into your SIS row by row.

Integration Options for Districts

For schools or districts implementing Intertwined at scale, the District plan unlocks:

  • SIS and LMS integrations

  • Bulk grade pass-back

  • Administrator Portal with cross-classroom views

  • Custom export configurations

Requesting Export Features

If you need export functionality that isn't currently available, submit a feature request to our team. Many of our export improvements have come directly from teacher feedback. See 12.3 Submitting Feature Requests and Bug Reports.
