If you co-teach a class, have a teaching assistant, or want a substitute to step in temporarily, the Instructors tab lets you add additional educators to a classroom.
Opening the Instructors Tab
Inside your classroom, click the Instructors tab. You'll see a list of all instructors currently assigned to this classroom, including yourself.
Adding a New Instructor
Click + Add Instructor (top-right of the instructors list).
Enter the email address of the educator you want to invite.
Confirm the invitation.
Intertwined will check whether the email is associated with an existing teacher account:
If they have an account: They'll be added to the classroom immediately and receive an email notification.
If they don't have an account: They'll receive an invitation email with a link to create a teacher account. Once they register, they'll automatically be added to your classroom.
What Co-Instructors Can Do
By default, added instructors have full access to the classroom, including:
Viewing and editing the roster
Creating, editing, and deleting assignments
Configuring simulator settings
Viewing Classroom Performance, Student Performance, Gradebook, and Rankings
Adding or removing courses
Note: All instructors on a classroom have equivalent permissions β there's no distinction between "owner" and "co-teacher" at the classroom level. Treat instructor access carefully and only add educators you trust to make changes.
Removing an Instructor
To remove a co-instructor, find their row in the Instructors list and click Remove. They'll lose access to this classroom immediately but will retain their own teacher account and any other classes they manage.
Common Use Cases
Co-teaching arrangement Both teachers add themselves as instructors. Each can create assignments, grade work, and monitor students independently.
Substitute teacher coverage Add the sub before your absence, and remove them when you return. Generated credentials for students will still work β the sub doesn't need to know your account password.
Department chair or instructional coach Add your coach or chair so they can review classroom data without you needing to share screenshots or screen-share during meetings.
Student teacher / pre-service teacher Give a student teacher hands-on experience with real classroom data, then remove their access at the end of the placement.
