If you've assigned a course to your classroom but a student says they can't see it in their dashboard, walk through these checks.
Check 1: Is the Student Actually in Your Classroom?
The most common cause is that the student is enrolled in a different classroom than you assume.
Open your classroom's Students tab.
Confirm the student's name appears in the roster.
If they're not there, they joined a different class or haven't joined yet. Share your class code and have them join.
Check 2: Is the Course Assigned to This Classroom?
Open the Assigned Courses tab inside your classroom.
Verify the course card appears.
If the course isn't listed, you haven't assigned it yet β click Add Course and assign it.
Check 3: Is the Student's Browser Cache Stale?
Browser caching sometimes prevents new course assignments from appearing. Have the student:
Refresh the page (Ctrl+F5 or Cmd+Shift+R for a hard refresh)
Log out and back in
Try a different browser if the issue persists
Clear browser cache for the Intertwined domain as a last resort
Check 4: Did You Just Add the Course?
Course assignments propagate quickly, but in rare cases there can be a short delay. If you assigned the course in the last few minutes, wait 5β10 minutes and have the student refresh.
Check 5: Is the Course Plan-Tier Restricted?
Some courses are only available on certain plan tiers (e.g., OpenStax courses require Pro tier). Even if a teacher assigns a course, students need access at the appropriate tier.
If you're on Starter (free), students don't have access to the student-side curriculum at all β they can only access the Arcade and limited materials. Upgrade to Core or above for student curriculum access.
Check 6: Did the Student Recently Switch Classes?
If a student transferred from another class mid-semester, their dashboard may show stale course data. Have them log out fully and log back in to refresh the classroom assignment.
Check 7: Is the Student Looking in the Right Place?
Sometimes students look for course content in the wrong section of their dashboard. Walk them through:
Log into intertwinedfinance.com
Land on the student dashboard
Navigate to My Courses (or equivalent)
The assigned course should appear as a card
If they're navigating to Assignments but no assignments exist yet, they may think they have no work. Even if no assignments are scheduled, students can still browse the course material directly through the course view.
When to Escalate
Contact support if:
The course appears to all other students but not this one
Refreshing and logging out don't resolve it
The course was assigned days ago and still isn't visible
