By default, the Gradebook shows every lesson in every assigned course. For most teachers, that's overwhelming. The Course and Module dropdowns let you narrow the view to what matters right now.
The Course Dropdown
In the top-right of the Gradebook, the Course dropdown defaults to one of your assigned courses (e.g., "Introduction to Financial Literacy (Legacy)").
If your classroom has multiple assigned courses, switch between them here. The entire Gradebook updates to show only lessons from the selected course.
When to switch courses:
You teach two different curricula in the same classroom (e.g., Legacy and 2e)
You're grading from one course this week and another next week
You want to compare student performance across two courses
The Module Dropdown
Next to the Course dropdown, the Unit dropdown lets you filter to a specific unit within the selected course.
"All Modules" view (default) Shows every lesson from every unit in the selected course. Useful for end-of-semester audits or comprehensive reports.
Specific unit view (e.g., "1. Financial Responsibility") Shows only lessons from the selected unit. The Gradebook becomes much narrower and easier to scan.
When to Use Each View
Current-week view Set Unit to whatever unit you're currently teaching. Check the Gradebook daily to see which students are mastering vs. struggling with this week's content.
End-of-unit assessment view Set Unit to the unit you just completed. Scan for orange/gray cells before moving on to the next unit. Re-teach or intervene before progressing.
Mid-semester audit view Set Unit to "All Units" but limit by Course. See the whole semester's progress in one view. Useful for progress reports and parent communication.
Full-year report card view Show "All Units" across all assigned courses. This is your comprehensive view for end-of-semester grade reports.
Filter Combinations
You can combine course and unit filters with the Search students field for very targeted views:
"Show me Maria's performance in Unit 3 of the 2e curriculum" β Course: 2e + Unit: 3 + Search: Maria
"Show me Period 1's performance on just the credit and debt unit" β Course: Core Foundations + Unit: Credit & Debt + (no student filter)
Resetting Filters
To return to the default full view, set the Unit dropdown back to "All Units" and clear the search field. Course must always be set to one of your assigned courses β there's no "all courses" view.
