7.7 Sorting & Searching Your Student Roster

Quick tips for navigating the student list in the Student Performance tab efficiently.

Written by Kerry Ao

The student list in the left panel of Student Performance is your jump menu, which is a fast way to switch between students without leaving the tab.

Sorting Options

Two sort modes are available, toggled at the top of the list:

Name (default) Alphabetical by first name. Best for general browsing or when you know whose data you want.

Accuracy Sorted by accuracy ascending β€” lowest-accuracy students at the top. Best for weekly triage when you want to see who needs attention.

Click the toggle at the top of the list to switch between modes.

Searching

The Search students field at the top of the left panel filters the list as you type. It matches against first or last name.

This is especially useful in large classes (25+ students) where scrolling becomes tedious.

Workflow Tips

Weekly check-in workflow

  1. Switch sort to Accuracy

  2. The five students at the top are your priority list this week

  3. Click into each one for a quick view

Conference prep workflow

  1. Switch sort to Name

  2. Search for the specific student

  3. Review their data across all views

Quick simulator scan

  1. Stay on the Budget Simulator (or Stock / Startup) view

  2. Click through students from top to bottom

  3. Spot trends β€” are most students in the College Student phase? Is anyone significantly behind?

What's Not in the List

The student list shows all students currently enrolled in your classroom. If a student you expect to see isn't there:

  • They may have been removed from the classroom (check the Students tab)

  • They may not have completed registration yet (check that they used your class code)

  • They may have joined the wrong period (verify with the student directly)
