How is Intertwined priced?
Premium plans are priced per student per year, billed annually:
Starter — Free, forever
Core — $7/student/year
Plus — $13/student/year
Pro — Contact for pricing
District — Custom pricing based on size and scope
The Starter plan is permanently free for individual teachers.
Who pays the subscription?
Subscriptions are typically paid by:
Individual teachers — Self-funded on Starter (free) or paying out of pocket for higher tiers (rare)
Schools or departments — A department head or principal purchases for a group of teachers
Districts — Centralized purchasing for many schools at once
Bank sponsors — Local banks fund subscriptions for schools under CRA partnerships
When am I billed?
Annually, at the start of your subscription year. The subscription year typically aligns with the academic year, but it can be configured otherwise during onboarding.
What if I add students mid-year?
For modest mid-year additions, your subscription typically covers them at no extra cost. For significant mid-year additions (e.g., adding a whole new class period), contact support or your Account Manager to discuss whether a plan adjustment is needed.
Can I try a paid plan before committing?
Yes — Intertwined offers periodic promotions and trials, including the "Stronger Together" promotion for free access to Core features. Contact our team to discuss what's currently available.
What if my school doesn't have a budget?
A few options:
Stay on Starter (free) — You still get the Teaching Toolkit and Arcade
Pursue CRA bank sponsorship — A local bank funds your program at no cost to the school (see 10.5)
Pilot pricing — Some schools can negotiate pilot pricing for the first year before committing to a full subscription
District-level purchasing — If multiple teachers at your school want Intertwined, consolidating into a district plan can lower per-teacher costs
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are typically not provided once a subscription has been billed for the academic year. Exceptions are case-by-case (mistaken purchase, technical inability to access the platform, etc.). Contact support to discuss.
What happens at the end of my subscription year?
You'll receive renewal notices in advance. If you renew, your subscription continues seamlessly. If you don't renew, your account reverts to Starter (free) at the end of the term — you don't lose data, but higher-tier features become inaccessible.
What payment methods do you accept?
For individual teacher subscriptions, we typically accept credit cards. For school and district subscriptions, we accept purchase orders, invoices, and ACH transfers in addition to credit cards. Contact support for specifics on your situation.
How do I get an invoice or receipt?
Invoices and receipts are emailed to the billing contact on file. If you need a copy, check your Account Settings → Billing section, or contact support.
Can I change my billing contact?
Yes. For school and district subscriptions, contact your Account Manager. For individual subscriptions, update billing details in Account Settings.
What about taxes?
Taxes vary by jurisdiction. Intertwined adds applicable taxes to your subscription invoice based on your billing location. If your organization is tax-exempt, provide a tax-exempt certificate to support during onboarding.
Is there a student or educator discount?
The Starter (free) tier already provides full access to teacher resources at no cost — that's our universal discount for individual educators. Per-student pricing for paid tiers is already structured to keep costs accessible for school budgets.
Do you offer multi-year contracts?
Yes, for districts and large schools. Multi-year contracts may include discounted pricing in exchange for the longer commitment. Contact your Account Manager or our sales team to discuss.
