Dear [NAME OF CONTACT],

I would like to share with you an important initiative within [MY SCHOOL NAME] and see if [BANK NAME] would partner with us in our efforts. As a school serving many low- and moderate-income families, we find that our mission has expanded from providing a good education to helping students develop financial literacy skills.

We plan to adopt a financial literacy program in our school this upcoming school year to support and accelerate our students’ knowledge and understanding of personal finance. The National Financial Educators Council (NFEC), detailed in a Financial Literacy Statistics report, notes that a majority of young adults aged 18-24 identified money management as the course that would benefit their lives the most.

As part of our financial literacy programming implementation, we want to use a software package called Intertwined. Intertwined is used nationwide by schools and organizations and is proving a great success. Intertwined gives us a mechanism to deliver high-quality, accessible financial education. Intertwined’s resources and programs are specifically designed to empower students in the classroom and at home, equipping them with basic financial literacy skills such as financial responsibility, budgeting, and investing. Specifically, Intertwined provides an all-in-one software solution that integrates a personalized curriculum, serves as a full-service learning management system, and reports real-time feedback mechanisms. You can learn more about it at their website (www.intertwinedfinance.com), but here is also a short description of how it works in the school environment.

  1. Our teachers and staff onboard onto their observer accounts and generate class codes for students to connect to. These online classrooms can be accessed and used in the classroom or at home.

Some classes that are directly deploying Intertwined include:

    1. Personal Finance

    2. Stock Market Investing

    3. Entrepreneurship and Innovation

    4. College and Career Readiness

  2. Students may work through Intertwined’s interactive curriculum content and adaptive assessments. Students are then immersed in real-life financial applications through Intertwined’s simulators, including the stock market simulator, which pulls live data from 500+ global exchanges.

  3. Teachers receive all this data, including student interactions, assessment results, and simulator performance. Intertwined’s diagnostic tools simplify the teaching and planning process by highlighting areas where students struggle and succeed.

Intertwined has a few unique features that we believe you would find interesting and help further promote financial literacy with our students. New features like the budgeting simulator will further immerse our students in real-life financial scenarios. Our students will simulate the financial life of being an adult: budgeting for food, paying for rent, and encountering certain emergencies. Students will also work to build a credit score and save for large investments such as buying a house or car.

The approximate cost for us to use Intertwined’s services is $XXXX. We would love to see if [BANK NAME], as part of their Community Reinvestment Act efforts, might see a fit with what we’re doing and provide funding to us so we can effectively rollout Intertwined across our campus. In fact, we would greatly value additional involvement from [BANK NAME] if it makes sense to you.

Beyond your Community Reinvestment Act efforts, there are also some other tangible benefits. The Intertwined website has support for a sponsorship thank-you. This can be seen by every user (teachers, administrators, students, and parents) each time they access Intertwined’s website. We also would participate with you in publicizing your support of our Intertwined program in just about any manner that you think worthwhile. And at the end of the year, we will provide you with a report that demonstrates the progress our school makes as a result of our Intertwined program.

We do thank you for any consideration of this initiative. We know it will have a big impact on our school and help us make better citizens of our students in the long run. Additionally, we would love to see if an ongoing relationship with [BANK NAME] where there is regular interaction between [BANK NAME] and our students, staff, and parents.

Would you please let me know if this is a good fit for [BANK NAME] and if there is interest? You can contact me at (555) 555-5555 or by email at [email protected].

Sincerely,

[MY NAME]
